SALTECH® Plus Water Softener Salt Tablets, 25 kg
SALTECH® Plus Tablets are water softener salt tablets manufactured by Salinen Austria AG for the regeneration of ion-exchange resins in water softening systems. The product is made from vacuum salt and is intended for automatic water treatment systems.

Applications
For the regeneration of ion-exchange resins in water softening systems and for use in selected electrolytic water chlorination systems.
Used at:
• boiler houses;
• car washes;
• commercial laundries;
• Foodservice & Hospitality businesses;
• food processing plants;
• commercial and industrial water treatment facilities.
Advantages
Made from Vacuum-Evaporated Salt
The principal benefit of a vacuum salt base is its low insoluble matter content. In water-treatment systems, this reduces sediment build-up in the brine tank and supports predictable resin regeneration.
Cylindrical Tablet Form
Consistent tablet geometry promotes even dissolution when regeneration brine is prepared in automatic water-treatment systems.
Dedicated Water-Treatment Product Range
SALTECH® is Salinen Austria’s dedicated product range for water treatment and ion-exchange resin regeneration. The product is designed for systems in which regeneration brine is prepared directly in the brine tank.
Whole-System Operating Costs
Assessment of salt tablets includes purchase cost, brine-tank cleaning requirements, regeneration stability and the overall maintenance burden of the water-treatment system.

FAQ
Why does sediment form in the brine tank?
Sediment forms from insoluble impurities, fine particles and material generated by tablet breakage. Accumulation reduces the tank’s effective volume, increases cleaning requirements and can affect the preparation of regeneration brine.
Why does the system regenerate the resin poorly even though there is salt in the tank?
A common cause is a salt bridge: a hard salt crust that forms above the water level. The tank appears full, but the salt is not in contact with the water and no regeneration brine is produced. Similar symptoms may result from sludge at the bottom of the tank, a blocked injector or faults in the brine draw system.
Why does salt consumption differ between sites?
Salt consumption is determined by raw-water hardness, regeneration settings, system capacity and actual water use. Two identical softeners can consume different quantities of salt even when using the same product.
Can ordinary food salt be used instead of salt tablets?
For most automatic water-softening systems, equipment manufacturers recommend salt tablets. They provide predictable dissolution and practical brine-tank operation. Check the equipment manufacturer’s recommendations before changing the product.
What should be considered when selecting salt tablets?
For water-treatment systems, the key factors are NaCl purity, insoluble matter, dissolution consistency and compliance with the equipment manufacturer’s requirements. These factors directly affect sediment formation, brine-tank cleaning frequency and the consistency of resin regeneration.
How can you tell that a water softener has stopped using salt?
Typical signs include the return of water hardness, scale formation, an unchanged salt level over an extended period or water remaining in the brine tank after regeneration. In such cases, check for a salt bridge, sludge accumulation and correct operation of the brine draw assembly.
How often should the brine tank be cleaned?
Cleaning frequency depends on salt quality, system duty and the equipment manufacturer’s recommendations. Sediment accumulation, sludge formation or inconsistent regeneration indicate that cleaning may be required.
